NFL Outlook

Is top Rookie Wide Receiver in the cards for Drake London at the 2022 NFL Draft?

As noted above, Drake London played both football and basketball while at USC. London does a good job of bringing what made him a good basketball player to the football field. He is an excellent athlete with regards to jumping ability, body control, and agility for a big receiver. Often he can be found using his body to “box out” the defender in order to make the catch.

London has the size to line up on the outside, (6’5 / 201 lbs.), and the versatility to line up in the slot as well. He ball skills are above average and perhaps the best in this class. He tracks the deep ball exceptionally well and displays an outstanding catch radius, leveraging his jumping abilty to make poor QB throws look good. His route running is decent but he will need to improve at the next level in order to dominate.

Drake London is effective with the ball in his hands running after the catch. For a bigger receiver, he is elusive and can get positive yardage. His bigger-bodied build benefits him as well as he is difficult for smaller defenders to tackle. London is a downfield threat in the passing game and he will likely win the contested-catch situation.

The majority of the RotoHeat analysts see London as a potential alfa type receiver, and a WR that is firmly in the top tier when it comes to talent in this year’s draft.
