Atlanta Falcons running back and return specialist Kenjon Barner joined Dave Archer on the Dan Quinn coaches show.

Barner talked about when he accepted the role of being a return specialist.

“I would really say once I got around Darren Sproles.” Barner said “That guy has been very instrumental in my career, probably the most influential guy that I’ve come across as far as a career standpoint that I’ve ever met. The most selfless caring dude, he’s going to give it to you real he ain’t going to sugarcoat nothing, he’s going to tell you what you need to hear not what you want to hear. For me it was really 2014 when Carolina made the trade with Philly to send me to Philly, I got up under Sproles and I’m a great listener that’s one thing I do exceptionally well you might not think I’m listening but I’m listening and I’m paying attention. I use to watch that guy every day, I use to watch him come to work every day, watch him go back there catch punts, catch kicks and he would always tell me come on, lets go back here and catch these kicks. I use to tell him all the time, I’m not your child stop talking to me like I’m your kid, but 2014 is kinda when that transition started going into 2015, 2016 and then 2018 I was really all in on that specialist role.”
