The Uganda Martyrs are a group of 45 Christians martyred by the King of Buganda between 1885 - 1887, as well as many as 70 Muslims martyred by his father before him. Their story of continued faith in the face of certain death inspires Christians today and has been called the spark that lit the flame of the faith in modern Africa.
