"It's a project dear to my heart.

When I broke into the alternative poster community a couple of years ago, there weren't many females around. It is very much a male-dominated field. Don't get me wrong, I love my male colleagues and at the end of the day, gender doesn't matter one bit when it comes to art, but when more and more women came into the picture, it just was a really, really good feeling. That eventually grew into the idea of a collaborative project to not only celebrate these fantastic artists but also strong females in cinema - in front of and behind the camera."

Eileen Steinbach, also known as SG Posters, is a designer and illustrator from Hannover, Germany. She creates key art and illustrated promotional pieces for the entertainment industry and her clients range from indie filmmakers to major studios. She has always been a community person and engages with other artists, sharing and promoting their art, on social media on a daily basis.

"Being a freelancer, this job and this whole corner of the art world, is much more fun if you're doing it with and alongside others, not against them. That's definitely what this project showed me once again: talking to all of these brilliant ladies, discussing their concepts and different stages of their creative process, was such a pleasure and inspired me immensely. I really loved every minute of it and I hope they did too."

THE FEMALE GAZE - A MOVIE POSTER PROJECT is a collaborative project featuring over 30 female artists from all over the world, celebrating women in cinema.
