DOUBLE FEATURE Episode! I had a good weekend at the movies so decided to do an impromptu solo episode sharing my thoughts on "The Long Game" starring Jay Hernandez, Dennis Quaid, and Cheech Marin as well as Alex Garland's "Civil War". I break the seal on some Garrison Bros Balmorhea Bourbon for this one.

This week Chris and I blind taste 6 Sierra Norte Mexican Whiskey's, White Corn, Yellow Corn, Black Corn, Purple Corn, Red Corn, and Rainbow Corn. We also try out a new Old Forester Single Barrel Barrel Strength Pick from Canyon CIty Liquour in Azusa CA as well as my rye infinity bottle which I've named "The Water of Life". This week both Matt and Chris join me to discuss one of my favorite John Carpenter films, "Assault on Precinct 13". Fantastic film that these guys just watched for the first time. We try out a flight of whiskies for this one starting with a Single Malt from a local distillery in Culver City, CA. Then we move on to Little Book Chapter 6 "To The Finish", and then end on Elijah Craig 18. (As a bonus we pour some Knob Creek 18 for comparison)

The Thing (1982)/ J&B Blended Scotch and Nelson Bros Cognac Cask

This week Matt and I discuss one of the greatest films of all time. The sci-fi horror classic that is John Carpenter's "The Thing". We pair this with Macready's drink of choice, the J&B blended scotch whiskey. Since I'm not a big scotch fan, I decide to bring out a bourbon to try as well. We finally break the seal on the Nelson Bros Cognac Cask Finished bourbon.

SPOILER ALERT FOR "THE DEPARTED". This week Matt and I disucss the 202 film "Infernal Affairs. Heavy spoilers on this one so if you haven't seen it yet, or Martin Scorsese's The Departed, then you'll want to sit this one out. This week Matt and I discuss my favorite documentary, American Movie. Since we recorded on Thanksgiving week I decided to break out the Wild Turkey 101 12 year old. We compare it with regular 101 and a Stearns Store pick of Kentucky Spirit that is 10 years old.

In this weeks episode Matt brings two bottles straight from the Sagamore Spirit Distillery. Their new 6 year old bottled in bond batch 3 and the distillery exclusive Dopplebock Finished whiskey. After a couple pours of Sagamore we discuss Bong Joon Ho's 2003 masterpiece Memories of Murder.

Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, and Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers which features Paul Rudd in his first lead role and the last entry to have Donald Pleasance as Dr. Loomis. We pair these with the Nelson Bros Sherry Cask and 21st amendment brewery's Pumpkin Haze IPA.
