James L. Sutter is a co-creator of the Pathfinder and Starfinder Roleplaying Games. He is the author of the fantasy novels Death's Heretic and The Redemption Engine, and his short stories have appeared in such venues as Nightmare, Beneath Ceaseless Skies, Escape Pod, Apex Magazine, and the #1 Amazon bestseller Machine of Death. He's also written comics, essays for publications like Lightspeed: Queers Destroy Science Fiction and Clarkesworld, a wealth of tabletop gaming material, and video games—most recently the Starfinder audio game for Amazon's Alexa, featuring Nathan Fillion and Laura Bailey.
