Is Joe Exotic’s Campaign Ad Good?

In order to assess if Joe Exotic’s campaign is any good, we first need to decide what makes a good ad in the first place. A good ad is engaging, hooks the audience member, conveys a message, tells a story, and includes a call to action. This is true for any type of ad in any industry.

Joe’s campaign ad is super engaging. He has a very authentic story by talking about how he will not change the way he dresses, that he is gay, and that he lives a very risque lifestyle both sexually and economically. The initial 5 seconds of the video are not very engaging because although he has tigers around him and that is interesting, he doesn’t tell me why I should watch the rest of the video. He also walks around a lot in a distracting way and there is a lack of focus in on his face and character. In a political campaign, I want to be able to see the candidate without glasses and trust who I am listening to and what they stand for. Although he is authentic I don’t think I can trust him seriously as a candidate, even if he is entertaining.

Overall I would say that Joe Exotic’s Campaign Ad is not effective ad driving me to the polls to vote for him. He could do better. You can see for yourself by watching it.
