How Do YouTubers Make Money?

While watching your favorite YouTube channel have you ever wondered how much money the person behind the camera is earning for each view, video, etc?

I know I have! That curiosity caused me to start my own YouTube channel as a result of learning how much money you truly can make as a YouTuber.

A YouTube channel can be an amazing investment. As you curate and create more content, over time more and more people will watch your videos.

Eventually, if you are growing your channel properly you will be able to get paid by advertisers putting up ads on your videos. More ads will get you more money. You can make between .10 and .30 per view from Adsense! This doesn't sound like much but if you have a video go viral and get a ton of views, then people will want to advertise on your video. So for every thousand views, you can earn around $3 - $5 on the low end.

However, that's just 1 video. Imagine your channel has 100's or even 1000s of videos. If you have tons of high ranking videos with lots of traffic that compensation multiplies very quickly.

How Else Can A YouTuber Make Money?

Making money on YouTube doesn't stop at just ad money. There are tons of other ways to make money using YouTube.

One way to make money using YouTube is through affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is the business of referring other products to people by reviewing them through videos or written content, linking your affiliate link to buy that product, and then earning a percentage of the purchase based on the percent of commission.

There are so many different affiliate products you can promote for travel, business, finance, sports, and much much more! Just about any product on Amazon.com can be reviewed and sold through affiliate marketing.

Just Google '[your niche here] affiliate programs' and you are bound to find tons of different products and services to link in your video descriptions.

You can also earn money on YouTube by selling merchandise. You can create your own merch around your YouTube channel and then link to a store where fans can buy t-shirts, mugs, koozies, etc.

In addition, you can even have brands pay for you to sponsor their products. Once you gain a large following you can have companies pay you to review and support their products on your channel. These types of partnerships are beneficial to both parties as you offer something to your followers that interests them while making money and helping to sell the companies product/service.
