Carol Oshmann – What the dreams of prisoners can teach us

You wouldn’t think that a group of women paying for their crimes in jail would have any wisdom to share. But like all of us, they have dreams. My guest on this episode, dream expert and author Carol Oshmann, traveled to a prison to help these women understand their dreams and wrote about her experience in the award-winning book, Prison Dreams. Her work revealed to her:
•the powerful effect dreams had on these prisoners
•the subjects they dreamed about
•how dreams helped them cope with prison life
•the dreams that led to healing
•what their dreams can tell us about ourselves

Carol Oschmann began her dream odyssey at age 45, maintaining that her dreams helped cure her of Rheumatoid Arthritis and depression. Shortly after that she began to dream for other people. She now lectures around the world, writes for several magazines and has written several books. Her book, Prison Dreams, won the National Pen Women’s Book of the Year award.
