We’re frolicking through the haunted fields of Stourhead Farm with Tamsin, by Peter S. Beagle! Join indomitable teen Jenny Gluckstein as she is forcibly relocated from NYC to Dorset, beloved pet Mister Cat in tow. She’s plunged into a historical metaphysical dilemma as she gets to know Tamsin Willoughby, a striking ghost with a tragic 17th-century tale intertwined with the Monmouth Rebellion. Madeleine and Grace explore the difficulties of being a 13-year-old responsible for putting ghosts to rest, all while living in a dilapidated, 300-year-old manor AND adjusting to a new school. Thankfully, there are some portraits in the local restaurant hiding some curious clues.

Fellow animal lovers will be particularly smitten by this one - we’ve got a living cat, a ghostie cat, a Pooka, and an unknowable ancient beast serving the Old Lady of the Elder Tree. All wrapped up in Peter S. Beagle’s absolutely gorgeous prose and surprisingly deft insight into a teenage girl’s psyche.
