Oscar season begins with a look back at one of the first foreign language films to be awarded an Oscar, "Bicycle Thieves." We discuss the road to Vittorio de Sica getting to make the film, and the many bumps along the way. After we cover background, we get into the plot and execution of the film plot-point by plot-point. We end the episode with two pairings for "Bicycle Thieves."
