Asia and Jareed interview Dr. Brashani Reece about the why the United States prison system is doing more harm than good. Dr. Brashani Reece is a public speaker for ending life sentences and co-founder of the DropLWOP New England Project. As a survivor of violence, Dr. Reece has a personal understanding of the impact of violence and the ways in which our criminal justice system is built solely for punishment, not accountability or healing. She is passionate about finding alternatives to lifetime incarceration and specializes in introducing the key issues related to prison in America to audiences who are new to the conversation. Dr. Reece holds a doctorate in clinical psychology, with a dual specialization in forensic & child psychology. She is also a trained restorative justice facilitator.
