News:

The President of the Disneyland Resort, Ken Potrock, gave an interview to the Orange County Register last week. He discussed changes at the parks, the new normal, and more. He states that the pandemic gave the resort an opportunity to rethink things. If they don’t work out, or need adjustments, that is ok, because Disneyland is continuously evolving. Ken also states that the new normal is almost here, with more yet to come. Finally, he said that Disney is working hard to bring characters from movies and tv to the parks much faster than in the past. – https://www.ocregister.com/2022/02/24/qa-disneyland-president-ken-potrock-on-change-momentum-and-the-new-normal/
With the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, many thought that Project Stardust, the initiative to widen walkways and improve guest flow throughout the park, was done. Well, it looks like the terraced areas in New Orleans Square may be next on the list of things to change soon. MiceChat reports that the elevated areas that are not wheelchair or stroller accessible may be removed soon to allow for better guest flow and accessibility. This would also help with the extended queue for Pirates that has been a problem since the introduction of Genie+ and Lightning Lane. – https://www.micechat.com/315458-disneyland-news-update-flattening-new-orleans-square/
The trams have finally returned! Guests don’t have to walk all the way to and from the front gates any longer, unless they want to. There was a special reopening ceremony for the trams, with Disneyland President Ken Potrock, Disney Ambassador Nataly Guzman, and, of course, Mickey and Minnie! On the day the trams came back into service, there were 13 trams in circulation. – https://www.micechat.com/314063-disneyland-trams-returning/
World of Color will be delighting guests once again soon, so work has been going on around the clock. One of the interesting things that has changed is the new projectors and housing for the show. The new buildings and projectors are much larger than the old versions. This could mean that the show will be brighter and have clearer images on the mist screens. – https://www.micechat.com/315458-disneyland-news-update-flattening-new-orleans-square/
It has been a few years now since the comic and cinematic universe lost one of it’s most iconic creators. To honor Stan Lee’s 100th birthday coming up in December, a plaque was installed in Avengers Campus. The new plaque is located at the entrance to Avengers Campus. It reads “We dedicate Avengers Campus to the incomparable Stan Lee. “That person who helps others simply because it should or must be done, and because it is the right thing to do, is indeed without a doubt a real superhero.” Thank you, Stan, for inspiring the hero within each of us. You have made us all True Believers.” – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/02/stan-lees-legacy-honored-at-avengers-campus-in-disney-california-adventure-park/
Southern California Weeklyteers who are also AAA members, there are some ticket deals that might help you have a few dollars next time you go to the parks. A 3-Day, One Park Per Day Weekday ticket is $179, which is about $60 per day. There is also a 3-Day Weekday Park Hopper ticket for $239, which is about $80 per day. There are also options that include Genie+ for $239 for the 3-Day One Park Weekday option, and $299 for the 3-Day Weekday Park Hopper option. Warning: the following news might make you hungry! With the Disney California Food and Wine Festival starting in just a couple of days, Disney has released the Foodie Guide to the event. Some past favorites, as well as some new items are on the menu this time. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/02/foodie-guide-to-the-2022-disney-california-adventure-food-and-wine-festival-starting-march-4/
With the Food and Wine Festival starting very soon, of course the booths have begun to appear on the parade route with “coming soon” signage. Uncork California, Berry Patch, Garlic Kissed, Peppers Cali-Ente, Nuts About Cheese, I Heart Artichokes, Cluck-A-Doodle-Moo, Avacado Time, and California Craft Brews have all been rolled out so far. The Festival runs from March 4th through April 26th, so there is plenty of time to enjoy these treats! – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/02/26/photos-food-wine-festival-food-booths-have-already-arrived-in-disneyland/
