After long last, most of the entrance to Tomorrowland is free and clear of the “french fry” rocks that were installed with the last refurbishment to the land, back in 1998. The crowd flow is greatly improved when the park is busier, such as around the parade and fireworks. It is possible that by the time you listen to this that both sides of the Matterhorn might be open! Next Year, after 24 years of operation, the Indiana Jones Adventure will go down for it’s first major refurbishment. Permits filed with the city of Anaheim state that work will include steel work to replace the centerpiece of the attraction, the bridge. Other details, such as dates and other work to be completed has not been announced. Beginning January 6th, the Carthay Circle Restaurant will be unavailable for dining as it undergoes a renovation. The renovation is scheduled to be completed by January 31st. Annual Passholders will get an extra hour to experience one of the most popular attractions this time of year. From December 9th to December 11th, the Haunted Mansion Holiday will be open for an additional hour for passholders to enjoy. A holiday tradition has returned to the Grand Californian lobby this season. The massive gingerbread house features Chip and Dale this year. Three new alcoholic beverages are available at Trader Sam’s this holiday season. The first beverage, called “Jingle all the Way”, and contains Fernet Branca, Kahlua, lime juice, pineapple juice, and coconut cream. “Peppermint Barks” is a mix of El Dorado 8-Year Rum, Rumple Minze Peppermint Schnapps, ginger syrup, lemon juice, Coco Real cream of coconut, and pomegranate juice, and is topped with mint leaves and a candy cane garnish. The resort has had major success with the famous Churro Toffee, so how could they make it better? The Walt Disney Archives will have a major exhibit at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana from March 7th through August 30th. More than 400 objects will be on display for the exhibit, called “Inside the Walt Disney Archives: 50 Years of Preserving the Magic.” D23 members and Bowers Museum members will get early access to the exhibit. Disneyland has been a flutter of activity recently as crews have been on hand to record segments for two upcoming TV specials. The Disneyland Annual Passholder Twitter account teased an update coming to the Play Disney Parks app for the Indiana Jones Adventure!
