Enter our 2nd girl group for our GIRL GROUP DIVAS summer series…it’s En Vogue!!

In this episode of Diva Dailies, Angie and Steffi review En Vogue’s sophomore album entitled, “Funky Divas” (1992). We also do a mini Diva Headlines update to discuss who has officially been offered the role of Madonna in her upcoming biopic, diva funko pops, and an exciting announcement for Diva Dailies’ upcoming schedule.

As we do in all of our Diva Discography episodes, part 1 is an in-depth review and discussion on EVERY SINGLE TRACK of the album. We then end our conversation sharing our Top 3 favorite songs from the album, 1 song we’d cut, and the underrated gem.

Make sure you tune in next week for part 2 when we talk about the Funky Divas era.

Album Info: Funky Divas is the second studio album by American recording group En Vogue, released by Atlantic Records division East West on March 24, 1992 in the United States. Conceived after the success of their Grammy Award–nominated debut album Born to Sing (1990), En Vogue reteamed with their founders Denzil Foster and Thomas McElroy to work on the entire album. As with Born to Sing, the pair borrowed from contemporary R&B, new jack swing, and hip hop, while also incorporating classic soul, blues and doo-wop elements, particularly on its on two Sparkle cover versions, as well as, in the case of "Free Your Mind," heavy metal sounds.
