We're taking it back to the 1996 Fiesta Bowl for the matchup between the top-ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers and second-ranked Florida. This was a rare 1 vs 2 matchup in the pre-BCS era of college football and it had a ton of hype. Many consider this Nebraska team to be one of the greatest ever assembled in college football and they were taking on Steve Spurrier and his 'fun-n-gun' attack. It was the changing of the guard between the old-school style of football and the new-school offenses that are still prevalent today.

The performance on the field was remarkable by Nebraska but there was a lot of controversy off the field surrounding this game. There's a lot to discuss and revisit on this episode of Distant Replay.
