Maximum Overdrive

START. YOUR. ENGINES... or actually don't, because a comet will do it for you. This weeks Spooky Season Episode is horrific in multiple ways, as Natalie comes back to the pod for the Pod's second anniversary episode, Maximum Overdrive! Stephen King's directorial debut (and finale), it's a movie about trucks coming to life to destroy humans... or just the ozone layer, as they mostly drive in circles around a truck stop for the film's runtime. Based off his short story Trucks, this film has all the Stephen King staples: deep layered thoughts about society, crazy dialogue, casual scares, and of course, baseball. We also get a killer pop machine, a bridge making morning commutes even more inconvenient, a rude ATM, and a gas pump that doesn't understand the demands of the trucks. No cars though, because that would make too much sense. Put on your seatbelts for this wild ride, and enjoy all the crazy this 80's classic has to offer!
