Minter Dialogue with Dr Alex Belser
Dr. Alex Belser serves as the Chief Clinical Officer at Cybin and an investigator in psychedelic research trials at Yale University. For the last 20 years, he has been a leader in the psychedelic clinical community, having served as an investigator on a number of clinical trials of psilocybin and MDMA to treat depression, anxiety, substance use, OCD, PTSD, and end-of-life distress. He is the founding President of Nautilus Sanctuary, the first non-profit center for psychedelic medicine on the east coast. Alex is also the founding member and administrative director of a Psilocybin Cancer Anxiety Trial at NYU School of Medicine where he’s investigated if psychedelic mushrooms can ease anxiety for folks facing end of life. This is a fascinating discussion around the state of psychedelic research, its use to and success in treating important pathologies, and how these drugs can help rewire the brain.
