This week Martyn is joined by Katie Gamanji to discuss containers. We discuss what DevOps means to Katie, what containers are and how they help American Express as well as discuss Katie's role at the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF).
As a Cloud Platform Engineer at American Express, Katie Gamanji contributes to the build-out of a platform that gravitates towards cloud-native principles and open-source tooling, with Kubernetes as the focal point. In previous roles, maintained and automated application delivery on OpenStack based infrastructure, which transitioned to the creation of a centralised, globally distributed platform at Condé Nast.
Additionally, Katie Gamanji has been elected as an End-User TOC (Technical Oversight Committee) for the CNCF. Alongside 10 other champions within the open-source community, she steers and maintains the technical vision for the CNCF landscape.
Katie Gamanji is a strong advocate for women in STEM, and public speaker on topics that revolves towards Kubernetes ecosystem and cloud-native tooling.
