This week Development Hell interrogates horror icon and filmmaker Simon Barrett. We pick his brains about the movies he didn’t get made. And the ones he did.
Simon discusses his upcoming feature film SEANCE starring Suki Waterhouse (ASSINATION NATION). This horror mystery takes place at a prestigious private school where six friends invite a new girl to join them in a late-night ritual, calling forth the spirit of a dead former student who reportedly haunts their halls. But before morning, one of the girls is dead, leaving the others wondering what they may have awakened.

SEANCE is available in theaters, on-demand and digital on May 21, 2021.

Simon also talks about the other horror classics he's made (THE GUEST, VHS, BLAIR WITCH). We then pester him into telling us about the films he lost to development hell, including a remake of the Korean thriller I SAW THE DEVIL.
