Family Values featuring David Harris

In this installment of the Detroit Worldwide Podcast,  Marquis breaks bread with educator, author, and speaker, David Harris about his deep love for Detroit neighborhoods and the importance of family.

David also discusses the inspiration behind his book, More than a Village and his lifelong commitment to education and mentoring. 

About David:

Raised in Detroit, David Harris grew up learning a unique set of family values that would ultimately help cultivate and guide him to a life of success both educationally and professionally.  Known as "The Family Values Expert", David has made it a priority to educate others about the importance of family through lived experience and relationship building. 

Released in March 2019, his book More Than a Village: A Family Values Recipe for Success highlights David's transition from boyhood to manhood as his chronicles the birth of his child and the community that nurtured him growing up in Detroit. 

David holds a degree in Sociology and a Political Science minor from Grand Valley State University and a graduate degree in Secondary Math Education from Wayne State University. 

He also serves a secondary math teacher at a middle school in Detroit and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at Wayne State University.
