2,650 miles. On foot.

Two thousand, six hundred, and fifty miles! In 53 days... 53 DAYS!

For those who are a little slow with their math that's roughly 50 miles a day.

That's what Joe Mcconaughy did when he set the Fastest Known Time hiking/running/surviving the Pacific Crest Trail down the West Coast from Canada to Mexico.

Since then he has shattered records on the Appalachian Trail, Wicklow Round, Long Trail, and Arizona Trail.

We talked all about how he got into ultramarathoning in the first place, what it takes to complete a 50+ day journey, and how he prepares for life on the trail. Highly recommend checking out some of the documentaries from his past trips on YouTube. They are INSANE.

It was also impressive to hear how Joe has created different sources of income from his athleticism. He is a sponsored Columbia athlete, has started guiding adventure trips all over the country, and now coaches other ultramarathoners and runners.
