If we could put Tigger the Tiger, capocollo and Jamieson Whiskey between bread, we’d have one tasty sandwich and we’d name it, Casey Patten. Or as we like to call him, the Sandwich Shaman.

As we hang out at Gina’s new late night joint, Last Call, she serves up 2 shaman-worthy cocktails while Casey shares his journey from startup to success to “forced retirement” and back again. Throughout it all, he never lost his belief in leading with his heart, following his passions and to always treat people well. Oh, yeah. And to never forget to have fun while doing it.

Now, as he re-invents himself with his latest “meat on bread” venture, Grazie Grazie, he brings together all those valuable life lessons, passion for great food and the belief in amazing hospitality to the DC Wharf. For those of us in the DC area, aren’t we a lucky bunch!

As if that weren’t enough to make you fall in love with him, he is also the culinary chair for DC’s premier “party with a purpose,” The Chance For Life Event. This annual event is part amateur poker tournament, part food tasting, party music concert and every dollar raised goes to support childhood cancer research.
