Organizations are increasingly looking to do more with less.  One way to achieve this objective is by transforming to a fully virtualized cloud infrastructure to deliver IT as a service to increase performance, agility and flexibility.   Microsoft Cloud based solutions provide a unique opportunity for joint EMC and Microsoft customers to leverage existing infrastructure in support of both on prem, and public cloud offerings.  EMC continues to develop architectures specific to deploying Microsoft applications in a rapid, low-cost model with “as a Service” capabilities.  These architectures leverage the convergence of virtualization, networking and EMC Storage platforms along with infrastructure that provides management, monitoring and reporting to cloud administrators.

EMC recently published two Cloud Reference Architectures based on this joint technology offering.  This week on EMC The Source, I spent some time with Paul Galjan (@PaulGaljan), functional lead for EMC Microsoft Technologies.  Both the Microsoft Cloud Reference Architecture:  Microsoft applications and Microsoft Cloud Reference Architecture: Foundation provide a blue print for deploying an EMC/Microsoft Cloud based application and infrastructure stack.
