Deliver On Your Business is a weekly podcast, however we are in the midst of a 31 day daily series called the 31 Day Courier MBA. Today is Episode 14 and the 7th of 9 episodes on strategy and operations. Each episode will have a blog post associated that will be the same general information, not necessarily a word for word transcript, but if you prefer to read over listeing, you can click on links to the episodes. Links are at the bottom of these notes.

As part of the 31 Day Courier MBA series, a lot of earlier episodes provide a foundation on which we build later ideas and concepts. While I try to make each episode stand on its own, It may be useful to start at the beginning, listen to or read on the portions about your busines plan and move from there.

Today's episode page can be found here.

I see four ways that drivers can relate to the number of delivery companies available:

You can choose to focus on one application or platform and deliver for them exclusively. You can work for multiple delivery companies but do it so that when you work for one, you focus on that one exclusively, and at a different time you might work exclusively for the other. Work for these platforms never interferes or overlaps. You can work multiple platforms at the same time but deliver individually. You make yourself availabe on multiple apps until you accept an order, then you turn off or ignore the other apps until that order is completed. You work multiple platforms and sometimes deliver from different platforms at the same time. This would usually be where your pickup and drop-off locations are similar.

In this episode we talk about mult-apping, as it's often called in the driver community.

We talk about your right to work multiple platforms

We talk about evaluating whether delivering for one company is enough for your goals, and your options if it's not enough

We go into a bit more detail on how multi apping works

We talk about things you need to consider about multiple applications, and some warnings

We briefly discuss the four major platforms and how they work in multi-app situations.

Some previous episodes we mention:
