Rich Lewis is an author, speaker, and coach who focuses on centering prayer as a means of inner transformation. He teaches centering prayer in both his local and virtual communities and offers one-on-one coaching. His Book, Sitting with God: A Journey to Your True Self Through Centering Prayer, is available on Amazon and has a chapter on true self, which we touched on in our conversation. This term of centering prayer was new to me, but the idea behind it felt familiar. I find it compelling. Especially because the practice of centering prayer, which entails sitting in silence, and calming the mind, has proven to be a great tool for me in my life. I feel like it allows me to have deeper, more meaningful moments throughout the day. It also gives me more of a buffer, say maybe 3 seconds or so, to not be so reactive and triggered.
