They gave him the Tonight Show and then took it away and it created a nationwide outcry. But how do we feel about it now? In the late 2010s, Conan O'Brien was handed the hosting gig for the mother of all late night talk shows, The Tonight Show. However, after several months, slipping ratings, and a weird time slot kerfuffle with previous Tonight Show host Jay Leno, Conan ended up walking away from his dream job. The fallout of it sent a shockwave through the late night world as well as Conan's fans, and people rallied around the unfortunate comedian.
