I’m in the process of developing a set of programmes that tell stories that are relevant to the process of building back better here in Leicester. I wanted some help in understanding some of the economic challenges that are being grappled with, and how the business models that might be adopted may affect and shape the lives of citizens from all backgrounds in the city. To help me understand some of the challenges better, I was joined by Professor Edward Cartwright, Professor Rachel Granger and Dr  Laura Pajon Moreno, all from De Montfort University. We explored the role of the social economy, the need for a values-led approach to economic development, and to what extent the models that we think about using may be part of the problem or part of the solution to dealing with social change as we recover from the pandemic.
