Episode 5 is titled, REDEEMING KIMBERLY. Suave and Kevin had the great privilege to interview Kimberly Woodson about her life, work as a reformer and advocate as well as the current problems in the Michigan criminal justice system.
Kimberly Woodson is the founder of Redeeming Kimberly, a nonprofit organization that helps returning citizens. She is a former juvenile lifer who served 29 years in the Michigan Department of Corrections. Since her release in 2017, she has been very active in standing up to the injustice in the penal system.
Each week, premiering in June of 2021, hosts David "Suave" Gonzalez (Suave podcast/released lifer) and Kevin McCracken (Adulting Well podcast) will be joined by law-makers, community leaders, policy-makers, formerly incarcerated and the currently incarcerated as they shed light on institutions that viciously target and harm marginalized communities, specifically communities of color.
