Hereditary (2018)

Released in 2018 by studio A24, Hereditary invites you to discover what's behind a series of strange dark events that surround the Graham Family and their History of secrecy, death and madness. The atmosphere is very unsettling and you will most definetely hold your breath for the remaining 10 minutes of the movie. The director Ari Aster mentions in an interview that despite the suffering present in every single one of the characters, you feel like you're supposed to like them, in opposite to other unsettling crazy-transition films such as"the cook, the thief, his wife and her lover". But that's a story for another night. If you're alone, get a drink to keep you company for this one. 

Hereditary is not for the faint of heart. This is not a movie I enjoyed watching a second time, mostly because of the extremely agonizying atmosphere and painfully long slow-burn ending. It's still a masterpiece that you need to watch. You've been warned.
