On April 3 1985, Doug Lovell attacked Joyce Yost outside her home in Ogden, Utah. In one final degradation, he threatened to kill her if she went to the cops. Joyce feared for her own life, but feared Doug would attack someone else even more. So she forged on and bravely pressed charges.

Just ten days before the trial was scheduled to begin, Joyce Yost disappeared into thin air. Police knew exactly who was responsible. They just had to prove it.

In a shocking turn of events, the person Doug trusted the most turned on him. And made sure he would finally pay for his crimes.

Em is taking a break so it’s a solo show this week.

Photos from both cases are up on our social media if you’re a visual person (like we are) and need to see where the crime went down. You can also find them on our website, in the Episode Discovery file.
