The Hoxton Radio Food + Drink Show Podcast #49

It's a strange sensation being on the radio when something Big happens but perhaps the best place I'd like to be.

When Prince bid us farewell all those years ago, Arielle was live on air and Niki Hoxton Movies was just about to go on, so we quickly rejigged the playlist, got up the Purple Rain soundtrack and rolled on with the music.

Just as we went on air for the show this week, sad news struck the food and drink world as our favourite Hairy Biker Dave sadly departed us. After battling long and hard with illness while winning our hearts and soul with his playful friendly style of cooking and riding over all these years.

He died peacefully with his best pal Si by his side, along with his wife and family, it bought me a tear of sadness and also delight to see him sent off in style.

Podcast episode 49 of a radio show we probably began 7 years ago first with Grace Forell now of many TV's fame then Jordan Smith of many pub kitchens fame. He's always been a healthy eater and a big fan of the Hairy Bikers who've given him plenty a fun ride by in Cumbria over the years.

He's also been where my most fun memories have been made over the years which, also drew a tear to my eye although we're all hopeful somewhere on the horizon his vocals will beam out over Hoxton once again.

We played  Norman Greenbaum Spirit In The Sky followed by Steppenwolf Born To Be Wild for the big guy before cracking on with proceedings.

It was all downhill from there as our Special Guests turned up brandishing smiles and gifts galore:

Get Over It is your hangover cure in an an easy convenient tablet which you take with your first drink and then first thing in the morning to give you the good time grooves once again.

Juno Bamboo Water, the refreshing ethical bamboo drink in a can, is proud to announce its launch with the arrival of two delicious flavours: Juicy Mango and Zesty Yuzu.
