TRIGGER WARNING - April is Alcohol Awareness Month. As we approach the end, it's important to bring light to a disease that - especially in times of crisis (like the one we're in now and many are triggered by the stress of our current climate) becomes more difficult to bear.

In part I Andrea talks to Terry about his past addiction, finding the love of his life at the tail end of it, how he turned his life around, became a mentor for people suffering from substance abuse, and how he's dedicated the past 20+ years to serving others. Terry has now been sober for over 20 years and is the Regional Vice President of Professional Relations for Origins Recovery www.originsrecovery.com.

If you'd like to get in touch with Terry, feel free to reach out on social media @tbshap or by email at [email protected].

In part II Andrea is joined by Melissa (a former NBA & NHL Dancer and Ice Girl) and her husband where they both tell the story about how Melissa's alcoholism affected their relationship, what led her to change, and how their relationship became stronger after recovery. Melissa has been in recovery for almost 3 years, is now a dance instructor at Class Studios (check her IG for LiveStream links and future classes: VIBE x MCB), and is a mentor for women in recovery at The Magdalen House: a non-profit organization helping women achieve sobriety. You can read more at www.magdalenhouse.org.

For more about Melissa and her story, follow her on social media @melissacbozich.

In both episodes they each walk through what addiction means, they provide an insight into the 12 steps, and talk about how gratitude, self-reflection, connection to a higher power, and serving others are vital tools in the path to recovery. Both of their stories are eye-opening, humbling, and educational.
