Daraja Mean’s Bridge is a one-of-a-kind podcast created to highlight the students and alumni of Daraja Academy, and get to know the inspiring people who believe in their dreams. Daraja Academy is a Kenyan high school created to educate and empower girls of poverty who otherwise would not be in school. The school’s unique teaching model and dynamic empowerment curriculum W.I.S.H. (Women of Integrity, Strength, and Hope) combine to create powerful change-makers. Daraja was founded by Jason and Jenni Doherty, educators from the San Francisco Bay Area in 2009. Since then, hundreds of girls, who would have been denied the right to attend secondary school, have gone on to become engineers, teachers, nurses and more.Listen, and you will agree that Daraja is much more than a school. It is a social movement, focused on a better world and fueled by hope. Look out world… the girls of Daraja are coming!Learn more at www.Daraja.org
