Oak trees are known for being strong and having deep roots. But they’re not flexible and cannot easily adapt to the pressure from the wind. Often in high winds and rain, oak trees are uprooted and after too much resistance they fail.

Palm trees are slender and sway in the wind. They have a deep root system that allows them to bounce back. They can bend and not break.

· Flexibility is essential to be able to weather anything thrown our way

· We need challenges that will deepen our roots and strengthen us for the future

· “We cannot control the storms that we face in life, but we can control how we respond to them.”

o Will you stand strong until the wind beats you down or will you take the punches, bounce back, and come out stronger? Don’t give up, be like a palm tree.

“Good timber does not grow with ease. The stronger the wind the stronger the trees.” – Thomas S. Monson
