Joe Biden delivered a stemwinder-barnburner of a speech centered on January 6, and not just for people who use “stemwinder” or “barnburner” to describe speeches. The events of January 6 are burned into the minds of millions of Americans, though yet to light a single candle in Donald Trump’s dim consciousness. Nonetheless, minions, lackies, and cult members have all been waving their gaslights hoping to earn Donald’s fleeting affection. Elise Stefanik slipped one over on Kristen Welker, which apparently isn’t so tough… On a extremely related note, Mehdi Hasan has been shoved out of MSNBC. Mitt Romney says that democracy is just so “2020”. As usual, no Democrats and few Republicans are listening to Mitt Romney.

Were security heads at January 6th corrupted, incompetent, or just low-key racist?

Ron DeSantis continues to fade against Trump, which is surprising as Ron is the candidate with the closest body count. Florida’s surgeon general continues to roll up the score. Nikki Haley is next into the barrel.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court will decide whether Trump should be allowed on the ballot. He shouldn’t, they know that, but what they will say is up for grabs. If Donald can’t have absolute immunity, he’ll indict everybody, which is half of what he plans to do if he does get absolute immunity.

Congress has reached a deal! Of course, there are a few details to knock out.
