Kagro in the Morning - August 1, 2023

It’s August, as we count down to David Waldman’s, and my birthday. But that’s old news. (Very old.) Here’s what’s happening today:

Ian Reifowitz, word for word your best value in reading entertainment and political discourse, came on to talk about inflation, and the lack thereof in political discourse and how best to frame any discourse going forward into 2024.

Twitter isn’t much good for discussing politics, following news, or even being Twitter anymore, but if you are looking for a fight, you came to the right place. David stepped in for a little sparring practice and found some pushovers around the topic of what piece of Earth to place Space Command. Of course, that particular issue attracts dopes across the spectrum, from Lauren Boebert all the way to Tommy Tuberville, who in this case makes Lauren look as smart as an MTG.

Bidenomics is a spectacular success story that Incumbent President Joe Biden is riding all the way to… a dead heat. How does that work? Well, Fox News, for one, who not only support Trump over Biden, they support Trump uber alles. And, as always, it would be nice if Dems got arrayed, even the ones who have a point.

Ketanji Brown Jackson is the new champion of originalism in the Supreme Court. That’s okay by Samuel Alito, he doesn’t need it anymore now that he has the majority. Democrats think they can tell Sam what to do, according to Joan McCarter, but making Sam do it is another matter. If you want the Republican House to do anything, you’ll have to find them first.

More defendants in the Trump documents case means more chances to flip on Trump, but also more opportunities to delay.
