We explore a number of situations in which people find themselves in difficulty. How much do we assume that it is their own fault and how much is just bad luck or the fault of others. Even if it is not their fault, how much do others have to bear the burden of their inability to meet their obligations? And how much can we trust the Talmud when it tells us that the halakhah follows a certain opinion?
