In lieu of another LoGH episode, I just talk a little bit about what’s going on with my life and some brief thoughts about the relationship between consumption and advertising in anime podcasting that speaks to a much broader pattern of consumption and advertising among young people of this age, I don’t think I contributed to any resistance to capitalism or whatever, there’s a lot more to say about this issue, because a lot of us (especially otaku) find our identities wrapped up in our fandoms, which I would say is absurd. Sure, you like Doctor Who or whatever, but you are more than your interests, maybe you are even less than your interests, but you are not your interests and fandom/consumption should be a hobby not a point of identification, but this hyper-consumer is what a lot of us identify with. I’ll talk more about this later, but if you felt like I’ve said anything vital or important, let me know, because this is something that I occasionally think about and wish I had more concise thoughts about.
