Growing Up In The Church Part One

Growing up in the church can be a challenging experience for children, especially those whose parents are leaders or esteemed members of the church. Being a pastor's child can be even more difficult because there are a lot of misconceptions and expectations that people have for children growing up in the church. They often equate growing up in the church with being religious, which can make it difficult to be a child and ask for the support that you need. This can result in trauma, rebellion, children being more isolated, and struggling with the expectations that others have for them. Expecting children to live up to the same standards as their parents is not only unhelpful but also unrealistic. As parents, we must understand our children are different from us and each other, and they need different parenting styles to realize their full potential.
