Cybernormer #24: Israels overvågningsindustri

Israel har længe markedsført sig selv som startup nationen; et land der er på den absolutte forkant når det kommer til digital innovation. Det gælder også deres overvågningsindustri, som i tæt samarbejde med det israelske militær udvikler software og hardware der kan alt fra at hacke telefoner, genkende ansigter og overvåge internettet. Israels overvågningsindustri eksporterer også i stor stil. Hvem ved, måske kommer det også snart til et land nær dig?

Vi har besøg af den palæstinensiske menneskerettighedsforkæmper og tech ekspert Mona Shtaya, som fortæller os om overvågningsindustrien i Israel, hvordan teknologien testes på palæstinensere og derefter sælges til andre lande, og hvorfor den palæstinensiske sag hænger sammen med retten til privatliv og ytringsfrihed globalt.
