The recent data breach at T-Mobile exposed the personal data of 54 million people - not all of them customers of the nation's second-largest mobile carrier. As much as anything, the breach has raised serious questions about how much data businesses collect and keep, whether they need it or not, and whether or not it's worth the risk.
