Have you ever feel that your performance was compromised because you got too nervous? Don't worry, you're not alone. Most of us seek to avoid nervousness. Joining the conversation on Cue To Cue today is Actor/Coach/Founder Of The Performers Mindset Joe Towne who reminds us that even though we think that we have to be nerve-free to be at our best, that is not true. We need to be stressed enough that we have the opportunity to be at our edge of growth, but not too far to be overwhelmed or too little to be bored.
What do you struggle most during auditions?
Do you look for someone else to tell you how your performance went?
Joe explains that is a misunderstanding of what your job is and that is an all to common reflex among performers. It's a trap, that somebody knows better than you do which can lead to anticipatory stress, comparison, and a lack of confidence.
Focus on yourself and aim for excellence and do better than you've ever done before.
