Jackson Heights in Queens is not New York's biggest neighborhood or most populous, but it is considered the city's most diverse. In fact, this pocket outside of LaGuardia Airport might be the most diverse area in the world. Researchers believe more than 160 languages are spoken here. But it wasn't always that way. Builders planning for Jackson Heights in the early 20th century wanted it to be an all-white, homogenous enclave.
