It has had an interesting relationship with the United States and Kenneth Katzmann, an expert on the region, provides an overview of the tensions and challenges that exist between the United States. He is a contributor to the Soufan Centre's recent report on Iran in a personal capacity but works with the Congressional Research Service providing his deep knowledge to the members of Congress in the United States.
