Episode 8: Gabriel Fernandez

Gabriel Fernandez was a sweet little boy from Palmdale, Ca. He spent the last 6 months of his life being physically abused by his mother Pearl Fernandez and her boyfriend Isauro Aguirre. On May 22nd, 2013 he was beat so badly he eventually passed in the hospital. His family, teacher, strangers, and more all reported that they suspected he was being abused to the Los Angeles Department of Family and Child Services and also to the Los Angeles County Sheriffs however, his case was never taken seriously and he was never removed from the home where he was tortured daily. He lived a beautiful life until the last 6 months, he was loved and will always be loved and remembered by his community. The people of Los Angeles demand change from DCFS so kids will stop being killed by their abusers but there is a long way to go for them to implement real and meaningful changes. This episode will discuss some of the abuse he suffered so I want to add a trigger warning here for those who cannot handle child abuse.
