Previous Episode: Creative Catalogue Fifty

In this episode of Creative Guts, co-hosts Laura Harper Lake and Sarah Wrightsman sit down with printmaker and recent recipient of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation’s 2021 Piscataqua Region Artist Advancement Grant, Kate Knox. Thanks to the Foundation’s support, Kate can now chase dilapidated buildings and experiment with woodblock printing and encaustic beeswax in her formerly-dilapidated-barn-now-art-studio full-time (every artist’s dream).

In this episode, we talk about the magic of making (a.k.a. slogging through the time-consuming process of creating), the challenges of carving on wood vs. a more forgiving material, like linoleum, and Kate’s secret life as a writer.  Kate gives us the inside scoop on applying for the Piscataqua Region Artist Advancement Grant, so if you’re interested in pursuing the grant in the future, tune in!
