It seems so unfair when your heart is consumed with distractions, yet you still rush from one thing to the next longing for peace.
Why is it that the world appears to have everything, but you are left with nothing?
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." ~ Matthew 11:28
How much do you think God questions His dedication and commitment to you? Does He ever grow weary?
Well we know that Jesus did grow weary here on earth, and He leaned on His Father for strength and restoration.
But are you doing the same?
I can be very stubborn. I like to think of it as determined. But when I want my way.... I. Am. Stubborn.
Me wanting to do things my way is not unusual. My kiddos will tell you that. My hubby will scream it from the mountaintop.
As we have been traveling this entire weekend helping to get our oldest two children relocated and settled in their new homes, problems were always lurking.
One thing after another. In the moment, each situation became very disruptive. Would we ever get to our destination? Would we ever get to bed? Would we ever accomplish the monster goal by Sunday night?
At one point, my watch told me to breathe!
I giggled. That's exactly what I needed to do.
We can become so focused on checking off the boxes, we forget the most valuable assets to us.
Going above and beyond doesn't have to strangle your faith.
Do what Jesus would do. Stay the course.
The K.I.S.S. ~ Go above and beyond!However, do it with the flare of God's touch.
God wants to be a part of your daily life. Don't let your to-do list, your goals, your activities take away from your time with God.
When Jesus grew weary and longed for more than what He physically could handle, He purposefully called on God.
You have a choice. You can do life lonely and wanting more. Or you can include God in the daily chapters of your life.
God wants to be with you on your journey. Take a road trip daily. Chat with your heavenly Father who loves you. Cry with Him when things don't work out for you. Yell a little too. God can handle it all!
"Go above and beyond. Open the door wider for God. He's waiting to come in."
