One of the topics to come out of our podcast this week was Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). Testimony from NHS staff over the past couple of days has made it clear that there is a potentially catastrophic shortage of PPE for frontline workers. The response from the maker community has been truly amazing. A design process has been triggered which has, in just a few days, brought together thinking from a wide range of specialist in relation to producing visors as one of the components for PPE. The discussion has helped build micro production units that can start producing and delivering visors to where they are required in the NHS.
