102 Avenue Bike Lane Detour At 116 Street

If you’re fond of using the Oliverbahn to make your way east and west in Edmonton on the north side of the river, we’ve got news for you.

EPCOR is installing an access point at the intersection of 102 Avenue and 116 Street and the street is expected to be closed until August of this year.  

Initial closures notices did not take into consideration the impact on active transportation, however, EPCOR has contacted representatives to discuss how best to manage detours during construction particularly as the 102 Avenue bikeway is a high-use route that provides safe movement for all manners of people, from walkers to cyclists.

These options include dismounting and using the sidewalk, a speed reduction for automobiles, temporary push buttons and extra signage.
